At Montclair Cobras, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment at all practices, games, tournaments, and affiliated events. We expect every athlete, coach, parent, volunteer, and spectator to uphold the highest standards of sportsmanship, integrity, and behavior—on and off the field. The following conduct guidelines apply to all participants at Cobras events, including partner venues, hotels, and travel destinations.
All participants and attendees are expected to:
- Maintain respectful and lawful behavior at all times—disruptive, hostile, or illegal actions will not be tolerated.
- Avoid impairment—any signs of intoxication or substance abuse that could lead to unsafe or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate action.
- Refrain from the use of profane, vulgar, or offensive language that disrupts the experience of other attendees or participants.
- Never engage in discriminatory, abusive, or threatening behavior or gestures—this includes racism, sexism, or any form of intimidation.
- Respect officials, coaches, athletes, and event staff at all times—no verbal or physical harassment before, during, or after competitions.
- Do not interfere with game play or event activities—including entering the field of play or throwing objects at any time.
- Cooperate with all security measures and emergency protocols—follow instructions from staff and event personnel without delay.
- Avoid displaying signs, symbols, or images that contain offensive language, disrespectful messaging, or inappropriate graphics.
- Do not damage or steal property—this includes facilities, equipment, or items belonging to other teams, fans, or host locations.
- Never engage in physical violence or make threats—this applies at all official events, whether on- or off-site.
- Avoid public disparagement of referees, opponents, teammates, or Cobras leadership—this includes online platforms and social media. Constructive feedback should be addressed privately and respectfully.
- Abide by the rules of partner venues and facilities—this includes hotels, transportation providers, and entertainment venues affiliated with Cobras events.
Enforcement & Consequences
Failure to follow this Code of Conduct may result in immediate removal from the event, loss of competition privileges, or further disciplinary action. Depending on the severity of the violation, consequences may include:
- Suspension or dismissal of individuals or teams from current events.
- A minimum one-year ban from Montclair Cobras programs and events.
- Permanent removal from the organization for repeated or serious violations.
All disciplinary actions will be enforced without refund, and decisions made by Cobras leadership are final.
